What wildlife will I see?

Bears, salmon, and whales… OH MY! We are abundant in wildlife here in Alaska… expect to see salmon, bald eagles, seals, black bears, sea stars, whales, sea lions, and more. Please remember, on your wildlife and rainforest walk… we are not a zoo and cannot guarantee wildlife viewings

What is the “best month” for wildlife viewing?

It really depends on what kind of wildlife you are eager to see, Alaska changes weekly throughout the summer with different critters showing up, spawning, eating etc

Tours book up quickly June – August… so if you are coming any of those months… BOOK ASAP! Dates sell out.

Bald eagles are EVERYWHERE! We’re home to 30,000+ bald eagles, so you’re very likely to see one.

Seals, also very common no matter the time of year.

May, the whales return and bears are coming out of hibernation.
June, salmon start running up our local creeks, bears become more active.
July & August… everything is bustling in Alaska! This is our peak wildlife season.
September, everything is starting to slow down just a bit but still plenty of wildlife viewings.
October, whales are heading back down south, salmon are finishing up their life cycles, and bears are starting to head into the mountains.

The Reviews Speaks For Themselves.

Real experiences from travelers who explored unforgettable moments with us.

If you’re considering a tour in Ketchikan, don’t hesitate—this is the one. Our local guide was an amazing guide and made the experience both educational and fun. Seeing salmon and bald eagles in their natural environment was so neat, and the waterfall was absolutely stunning.

Lorry Melon

An incredible Ketchikan tour! Cheyenne was an outstanding guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the area. We especially loved all of the wildflowers and berries. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ketchikan.

Steve Smith

This tour exceeded all expectations. Jaden’s knew so much about the local wildlife. It felt like a true Alaskan experience from start to finish.

Elora

We had so much fun on this tour! My favorite part was when Jaden took us to the beach! We found all sorts of shells and sea glass, and so many starfish! He even showed us some of his favorite wild berries and let us pick and try them. Our family will never forget this experience.
